  • Soldiers injured 05.22.22

    Hello all,

It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you that some of the Ukrainian soldiers that we have helped a lot have come under rocket attack by the Russian invaders and our fighting friends have suffered some serious injuries. Right now we know of 13 men hospitalized and 3 are critical. They are from the town that Yana and Oles live in and were in the East fighting when the attack happened. Yana and Oles are safe and the town is safe.

I wanted to tell you all because from the beginning of the war we have asked a lot from you all and everyone has always delivered. We now ask that you pray, send good thoughts or whatever you might do to engage your spirituality during a time like this. Freedom is a tremendous gift but a gift that comes with sacrifice. These brave fighters have had our support from the beginning and during their most difficult time need us more than ever.

I know they will never give up the fight for freedom and it is our obligation to support them anyway that we can, we have done so financially, we are sending support with our cards and now we need your prayers. Bless you all, bless these heroes, God Bless freedom to every soul.

  • Yan & Oles Ukraine Update 05.21.22

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend my friends. More good news that Yana and Oles are doing well and healthy. I talked with the two of them yesterday and exchanged chats today. The air raid sirens still happen on occasion but not nearly as bad or as frequently as they were happening from the start of the war until a few weeks ago. The evil invaders have certainly shifted strategies in the war and focused more energy in the east and the south, which is where most of our supplies are going.

We also want to share such good news on the Cards for Soldiers Card drive. I spent the past several hours getting the 3rd round of cards ready to ship too Yana and Oles. We are now at an AMAZING 1122 cards between the three shipments. Truly great work by all of you. Please checkout the below video and pictures to see some of the stunning cards we have received for the soldiers.

Photos below are of the round 3 shipment of cards for soldiers card drive.

In other news, we have continued to purchase much needed supplies with your generous donations. Oles is working on the clothes washers, it is a process, not many people order 7 at a time. lol Below are some images of a few tablets that we purchased along with some memory cards. Also pictured are just a few of the many tools we have purchased, these happen to be fixing a tank. Go get ’em fellas.

We have some great things going on behind the scenes as well and more good news to share in the coming days. You all are making an amazing difference to help in the fight for freedom in a nation that shares that passion. We will update you soon with more great news.

  • Yana & Oles Ukraine Update 05.17.22

Good morning, evening or afternoon depending on where you might be right now. Our friends Yana and Oles are healthy, well and keeping busy as always. I know we have had a lot of things going on lately with the amazing Ukrainian Dress auction and the Cards for Soldiers card drive, which is still doing very well. All of which are incredibly important but they help fund the supplies to the troops and keep awareness on the tragedy of this war that needs to end. Our work on those things (supplies) never stop even with the other things going on. Tonight I want to share with you some of the recent purchases made because of your generosity that have helped the war fighters not just succeed but thrive against the Russians.

Here are some of the things we have recently purchased.

As you can see we have been busy. We have purchased and delivered 6 used mini SUV’s and station wagons since the war began. A large used MANN truck that Oles got a crazy good deal on as the seller was sympathetic for the war effort. It was white when it was purchased but the Army painted it green. It is for delivering supplies to designated areas. Remember, the Ukrainian Army is over 100K people, it is a big logistical effort to get food and things to the front. In addition we have recently purchased 30 radios, over 200 shirts for the season change, countless more gloves and uniforms, 100 packs of water purification tablets, 20 solar powered rechargeable lights and many more things not pictured. One of the major purchases that we are currently in the middle of are clothes washers. One of the important things to keep the troops in good spirits and at their peak is good hygiene. Now that the weather is getting hotter, clothes will need to be laundered more often. We are buying 7 washers, with delivery of the second one tomorrow.

The proceeds from the dress auction and the donations we have received with some of the Cards for Soldiers has us over $140K in total global donations at this moment. We currently have about $5K on hand and $5-$6K that is purchased but shipping. The rest of which is roughly $125K+ is all in the field operationally.

You should be incredibly proud that in the yearly days of the war when no government or analyst gave the Ukrainian fighters a chance, you did. You always believed in them, you always believed in freedom, you always said, here is $25, here is $100, let me help the fight for freedom. It is because of all the people like in this group that helped give the fighters hope until the world governments woke up and said these guys and gals are bad-ass and can beat the worlds second largest Army, if we help just a little.

You may never go to Ukraine, you may never meet someone from Ukraine but you will have saved a people, a generation from tyranny. You will have helped to fight one of the worlds most evil people and regimes. Make no mistake about it the men and women of Ukraine are the heroes in this story but you had the love, the passion the courage to do something when not everyone did. You are the angels that helped to keep a country free. Thank you my friends.

  • Yana & Oles Ukraine Update 05.11.22

    Hello Friends,

I know the biggest question is how are our friends doing?  Yana and Oles are well but have been on the go with picking up and delivering supplies.  They are very lucky that Oles has an electric car because gas is rationed and it takes hours of being in line to get only a little.  Although we have had countless obstacles in this mission, will never be stopped as Yana, Oles and I work on your behalf to help the boots on the ground anyway that they need.  Thank you all for to the help, love and support for these amazing fighters.    I have connected with them briefly at like 6:30 this morning and will get a full update soon and pass along to all of you.

We continue to have some donations coming in but we have had some very large purchases the past few weeks and our available cash is about $3K.  To date we have brought in roughly $135K and purchased $131K in supplies of which about $125K are already in the field with the boots on the ground.   We have roughly $6K in transit or with Oles to be delivered in the coming days.  Some of the more recent purchases are rain ponchos, gloves, walkie talkies, shirts, paints, water purification, 3 laptops and a mini used excavator.  This weekend, I’m going to do a recap of some of the purchases this group has made to date.  It is really amazing to think what you all have done and what a significant help to the fighting forces.

Regarding the “Cards for Soldiers” card drive, we had another good day of incoming packages.  I think the past two days have added over 200 more cards so we are well over 500.  I will give a full update with that this weekend as well.  It is a beautiful sight to stop by the mailbox on my way home and get a key for the package locker because it is too much to fit in the box.  I have had that happen 5 out of the last 6 days, keep it up.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the Ukrainian dress auction.  We were going really strong for a couple of days and then bids stalled at $810.  I know that is a lot of money for a dress but this is no normal dress, it is a one of a kind dress, hand made in the Ukraine by friends of Yana and Oles.  My guess is we have a few auction experts out there who are waiting for the last minute and then will go all out.  So, let’s up the stakes.  If the winning bid comes in over $2K Oles will take a picture wearing the dress and we will post it.  LOL  He does not know it yet because he is asleep right now but I think that would be a nice wager for a special bid.  My guess is Yana is going to bid $2K just to see that picture.

As every day comes and goes, I am so proud of this group, the Ukrainian people who are supporting their brave men and women in uniform  and the freedom fighters in the Ukrainian military who were never given a chance by most of the world leaders.  The past three months has shown us that evil is very real but freedom, liberty and love of country are more powerful than any evil.  In addition the goodness in mankind by strangers from around the world to support people they will never meet but share their values will always win the day.

I receive many very touching notes everyday by email and snail mail that give thanks and gratitude for what we are doing together.  Today I received a note from someone who knows people in Ukraine on a mission and are helping elderly people who have no one else.  Those folks are hero’s and deserve our admiration and prayers.  We all want this to end today but cannot control the timing of the end but we can control how the ending happens with a free and powerful allied nation that will forever have a special place in our hearts for us all.

  • Yana & Oles Ukraine Update 05.08.22

    Happy Mothers Day!

First a quick update on Yana and Oles, they are both well and busy as always. Oles is on the go helping us do great work for the troops. Yana is working her magic and helping this community stay engaged and creative. It has been an active few days all around, we have all been extremely busy.

To all of the mothers, daughters, new moms, grandmothers and someday mothers, Happy Mothers Day! I would like to thank all of the mothers who have made our lives so incredibly rich with love, hope and the gift of creativity. Creativity is not only something that we have the desire and passion to do but it is also something that is nurtured by our mothers. That gift has allowed us to do many great things in life including come together in this community and do amazing things together to help support an incredibly important and just cause. We are all here today together because of that gift our mothers nurtured within us. We all know that mothers are amazing but I think one of the most amazing things about mothers is that even if they are no longer physically with us, they are right next to us every moment of every day for the rest of our lives. Thanks mom.

A quick update on the Cards for Soldiers card drive. I got all of the cards together yesterday and the count was at 293. However, last night after I checked the mailbox I went through all of the new cards and as of this morning, we are at an incredible 390 handmade cards. And I can see from my USPS notice email that I have many more boxes on the way. Great job everyone!!! We don’t have a cut-off date for this but the sooner, the better to help the fighting morale of these brave men and women. Below is a quick video and some photos of the beautiful cards!

A quick video update for Cards for Soldiers Card Drive

On the finance side of our collective efforts, we are at $130K+ in donations and the Cards for Soldiers is off to a great start. Oles has been very busy picking up supplies and delivering them to the military. The fuel issues are causing increased costs and delays in getting things to them but we press forward and do the best that we can knowing that we might have set-backs but we will never be defeated. The 200 first aid kits made it to Ukraine yesterday along with tons of other things like another thermal vision scope and with the change of the seasons, the soldiers need to transition the clothing so we have delivered 200 camouflage t-shirts today as well.

The kindness that we have received is heartwarming and it is beautiful to see the voices you have come together for so much good. Thank you as always for your continued support and generosity.

  • Yana & Oles Ukraine Update 05.04.22

I have good news, more good news and even more good news on top of that. However, the really big news that I wanted to tell you about is going to have to wait one more day (Thursday) but it will really be worth it…I PROMISE. The most important news is that Yana and Oles are safe and healthy. I talked with Oles a little this morning and he was very busy.

The other good news is that the Cards for Soldiers card drive is really picking up lots of steam. I received about 5 boxes just today with many cards in each box. It looks like we have well over 150 cards now in just a few days. I’m going to do a big post on the cards this weekend but want to get some more of the packages received so I can share with everyone. WELL DONE!

As I said, even more good news is that we did an audit of donations and thanks to some very generous fans of Yana and businesses in our industry we have eclipsed $130K in global donations. It never gets old to say THAK YOU all for the generosity and love you have shown during this effort in defending freedom. Below are a couple of images Oles took with some of the laptops that we have recently donated.

We have quite a lot of supples that we have purchased over the past few weeks which are just arriving or will be arriving soon. As you know there are many supply chain issues globally and that has slowed some of the delivery of shipments but we have more than $20K of supplies in transit to the boots on the ground.

Tomorrow is the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. I can’t wait, it is all queued up and ready to go live I just need to press a button. Be on the lookout.

  • Yana & Oles Ukraine Update 05.03.22

    Hello Friends,

I promise to be brief tonight.  Yana and Oles are well and busting their butts as always.  Without a doubt, one of the reasons I admire them both is their work ethic.  They are two of the hardest working people that I have ever met.  I’m amazed that through a war, they still complete all of their duties with Spellbinders and do so much amazing work for the war effort and their country.  I’m very proud to be their friend.

Tomorrow, we hope to have the big announcement that I teased you about a few days ago.  It involves someone who is traveling and we want to do a quick video as a part of the announcement, so stay tuned, you will love it.

Today and yesterday I started to receive quite a number of cards.  I haven’t done a count yet but it looks like about 60-70 cards for soldiers, which is a great start.  I’ve had several emails and inquiries from you all, and if you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email.  I will keep you posted as we start building steam on this really important initiative.  The cards are looking beautiful and it is going to be a huge morale booster for the men and women on the ground. I will do a more thorough card update soon as we really getting going on this and I know the next few days are going to be big.

Looking forward to Wednesday and check in with us often.

  • Yana & Oles Ukraine Update 05.01.22

    Hello Friends,

I am very happy to report to you that Yana & Oles are both doing well.  They had a very busy weekend but we did connect briefly on Saturday and Sunday and discussed some upcoming things.  They are working on a lot of logistical things on their end and we have a big announcement planned for Wednesday, you will want to check us out and tell your friends.

As the war rages on in Ukraine, the governments of the West are finally starting to wake up and support their efforts.  I have heard from friends in the military and read articles that the government and intelligence community expected Ukraine to fall within a few days from the start of the invasion to a week at the most.  I think there are two key factors that all the “smart people” in our government did not factor in: first, just how incompetent the Russian military is and second, just how amazing the free people of Ukraine are.

The problem with socialism is now and always has been corruption and the lack of checks and balances.  (Not to say Western governments are not corrupt, just not as bad) With no opposing viewpoints bad ideas, bad policy and bad strategy often win, are never challenged and are pushed forward because of perverse incentives.  The complete failure of the Russian military is a glaring example of how socialism and tyranny play out when those bad ideas are eventually challenged by a country a fraction of their size and who had their military gutted by the U.S., Ireland and the U.K.  I think that the news and social media in our society today has polarized us so much that this is the path that we are heading towards if we do not correct ourselves.  “I have my team, we are always right and we cannot be challenged” is a dangerous path to go down no matter your side or philosophy.

In my life I have leaned left and I have leaned right on various issues but have never been so intrenched in one side or the other not to embrace a good idea from any direction.  I welcome either side to challenge my ideas and thoughts, because that is how we grow and improve.  If an opposing viewpoint sinks my thoughts, those thoughts must not have been that good anyway will always be my position.  With the stress and anxiety of recent years, I hope that the people of America and the West learn from Putin’s failures that if you manipulate the system, have total power with no opposition, this is what you get…failure on a colossal scale. They always say that iron sharpens iron and I want to live in a nation that has the courage, the strength and the will of a Ukrainian.  We need to be able to set across from someone with a different thought, articulate our position and respect the opposition.  That is how we become stronger as a people and make better decisions for our future.

We have had a busy week once again.  We have been open with you all throughout our journey together in this fight and will continue to be as we are stewards of your generosity to do great things together.  As a quick update, we have passed the $110K mark in donations, which has recently been led by a few larger doners.  Until recently, most of our donations have been modest and collectively impactful doing great things.  It remains true that every donation makes a difference and none is to small, truly, everything helps and got us to $100K but as the modest donations have understandably slowed, we are grateful to have received a few large donations that have allowed us to continue our efforts and pushed us to the $110K+ mark.  Thank you all, we are a great team. I have not done a complete analysis but I would guess that more than half of the money raised has been $100 or less donations. So it is truly important for all of us to do what we can because it all adds up.

Over the weekend I started to receive some cards for the “Cards for Soldiers” drive that we have started.  I know first-hand what it is like to receive a card or mail when you are deployed and know this group is going to really help the morale of the fighting men and women who are doing such an incredible job fighting an evil regime.  I can’t wait to see the cards roll in over the next days and weeks.

We continue to be amazed by this group and all that you have done.  This is going to be a very busy week, so get some rest and keep an eye out for our updates with news and some of the great things we have planned to help our friends.
